Testing for asbestos

When we're called for a water damage, we have to find the source of the damage first. We search for areas with high concentrated water damage and cut a hole to take a closer look. Sometimes, we don't know what is behind a wall, cabinet, or flooring material. Once we locate the source and take a closer look we determine how to fix the issue. The most important question to ask the homeowners is when the house was originally built. There were certain building codes that were required before the 70's and certain updated building codes required after the 70's. One of those updated requirements is testing for asbestos. It's a cancer causing agent used in paint and building materials. Before we can complete any job we will test for asbestos. It's just another way to keep everyone safe.
